As the world becomes smaller, the affairs of one nation have
global impact on the world stage on multiple levels:
political, economic and social. In this current climate,
Seton Hall University recognizes its mission cannot be fully
achieved unless it is done with an eye towards
globalization. Because creating servant leaders for a global
society is so important, Seton Hall integrates a global
perspective into the curriculum as well as into the daily
lives and experiences of the students, faculty and community
members. The
Office of International Programs (OIP) promotes
understanding, respect and experience of other cultures as
the first, and most important, steps towards creating global
servant leaders.
The Office of International Programs achieves this goal by
promoting and supporting study abroad opportunities and
exchange programs for students and faculty and sponsoring
and organizing cultural events and centers on campus. Seton
Hall’s campus is enriched with enrollment from international
students as they provide the University community with
insights to other cultures.
In order to continue to grow and provide more opportunity
for students, the Office of International Programs needs a
physical home—a Center for International Studies. This
Center will become the home for the study abroad program,
international enrollment and cultural activities. It will
allow more enriching experiences for students, faculty and
community members.
The OIP hopes to continue the development of these
faculty-led study abroad opportunities, creating scholarship
funding to give more Seton Hall students the opportunity to
study abroad, developing scholarships for foreign students
to study at Seton Hall and enriching the cultural
experiences on campus and in the University community.
